One dead, four hospitalized after shooting in Sydney’s southwest

One man died and four others sustained serious injuries in an alleged shooting at a home in Sydney’s southwest on Tuesday night.

Police established a crime scene in Canley Heights after the men presented themselves at two nearby hospitals.

Officers responded to Liverpool Hospital around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday following reports that two men, believed to be in their 20s, arrived with multiple gunshot wounds.

One man, who had not been formally identified as of Wednesday morning, received treatment but died shortly after.

The other man remained hospitalized in stable condition, police said.

Approximately 10 minutes after the initial call, two additional men arrived at Fairfield Hospital in critical condition.

At 9:50 p.m., a fifth man, believed to be 19 years old, presented at Liverpool Hospital in stable condition.

He was also receiving treatment for injuries, according to police.

Police established a crime scene at a home in Canley Heights, with assistance from the homicide squad, as investigations continue.
